Suspect charged in Mercy Parking Lot Shooting

UPDATE 2: Charges have been filed on suspect for 1st Degree Assault, Armed Criminal Action, and 1st Degree Robbery. Bond has been set at $100,000 cash.

SUSPECT SOUGHT IN SHOOTING AT MERCY HOSPITAL IN JOPLIN: The Joplin Police Department is actively seeking Kaylea Liska, 20 years old, Webb City, in the shooting that occured last night. She was last seen wearing a dark color long sleeve jacket and red and white shirt. She is wanted for robbery and first degree assault from this incident and should be considered armed and dangerous. Any information on Liska's wherabouts should be directed to 417-623-3131 or call 911 if located. We appreciate the community's assistance in this matter.

UPDATE (12/24; 12:50 AM) - Mercy Hospital is no longer on lockdown. If anyone has any information about this incident, please contact the Joplin Police Department.

We are currently on scene at Mercy Hospital Joplin for a shooting that occurred in the hospital parking lot. The victim of the shooting confronted a female that was in his vehicle. The female then shot the victim. Victim was taken inside the hospital where he is currently in surgery. The female suspect then fled the area in an unknown direction. Mercy Hospital is currently on lockdown.

Joplin Police dispatch tell us a person has been shot in the Mercy hospital parking lot. We have a photographer heading to the scene and we hope to have more details when they become available.

    Update (4/25):  Joplin police say Ottawa County authorities arrested Cory Reynolds today. --- (4/24/2018) Joplin Police search for a suspect with ten active warrants. Police spotted 41-year-old Cory D. Reynolds Monday afternoon (April 23) around 3:00 at his home near 9th and Chestnut. Authorities say he jumped into a vehicle and drove off. During the chase, Reynolds hit another vehicle at 23rd and Maiden Lane and drove away..

    The new Joplin professional baseball team has a name. Joplin, MO – The Southwest League of Professional Baseball has announced that the new Joplin professional team will be called the Joplin "Miners". On March 21st, team officials narrowed the submissions down to six finalists; Tornadoes, Twisters, Miners, Jacks, Phoenix and 66ers.
