Human remains found in structure fire

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office would like to update you about an ongoing investigation. On 12/23/2015 Montgomery County Rural Fire was dispatched to a structure fire in the area of CR 2800 and CR 3300.  The first arriving deputy discovered a single family dwelling fully engulfed in flames.  Once firefighters arrived on scene they began extinguishing the flames.  While firefighter were battling the flames they discovered one person deceased inside the home.  
A short time later Montgomery County Sheriff's Office received information that a person identified as Thad Christopher Green (DOB 7/31/1983) may have made statements of his intention to cause harm to the resident of the home, Cameron Henry Wawrzynaik(DOB 7/30/1980). 
Investigations from Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Kansas Bureau of Investigations and Kansas State Fire Marshal's Office are investigating the incident as a homicide.  During the investigation an arrest warrant was issued for Green.  Green was taken into custody in Osage County, Ok where he is currently being held pending extradition to Montgomery County. 
The human remains found in the home have been sent for autopsy and identification.   No positive identification of the deceased has been made at this time.  Montgomery County Sheriff's Office will update you as more information becomes available.
