Jarden Consumer Solutions Community Fund Donates $23,000 to Local Charities

Jarden Consumer Solutions (JCS) announced today that its employee-funded JCS Community Fund donated $23,000 to three local charities in the fourth quarter of 2015. The fund is committed to providing essential services and opportunities to at-risk youth, women and families in communities where JCS employees live and work, and has donated more than $6 million across the country since its creation in 2004.

“Through the JCS Community Fund, our employees are able to give back to the communities where they work and live,” said Rocki Rockingham, Administrator, JCS Community Fund. “Over the years, their contributions have helped strengthen those communities and made a positive impact in the lives of those who need it most.”

The JCS Community Fund provided funding for the following organizations:

  • Area Agency on Aging, Region X received $5,000 that will be used to purchase meals for delivery to elderly clients in Neosho and surrounding areas in Newton County.
  • Community Health Clinic of Joplin received $10,000 that will be used to provide prescription assistance and medical services to residents of Neosho and surrounding Newton County cities.
  • Newton County Food Basket Brigade, Inc. received $8,000 that will be used to purchase milk, bread and fresh produce to feed at-risk families in the Neosho community and surrounding areas.

During the fourth quarter of 2015, the JCS Community Fund also made donations to organizations in Arkansas ($25,480), California ($15,000), Mississippi ($6,000), Tennessee ($10,000), Minnesota ($3,750) and South Florida ($110,000). In total, the JCS Community Fund approved grants totaling $193,230 in the fourth quarter of 2015.

    Two cycling events both follow Route 66. As the Oklahoma Freewheel comes to a close, the Big Bam Ride begins in Joplin.  After riding 425 miles across Oklahoma and Kansas, roughly five hundred cyclists will be departing on a five-day cycling tour  along historic route 66  for the Big Bam ride.
