Each year the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture and the National Ag in the Classroom Consortium recognizes five exceptional teachers from across the US by presenting them with the Excellence in Teaching about Agriculture Award. This competitive program recognizes state selected "Teacher of the Year" recipients for their successful efforts in teaching agricultural concepts in their curriculum.
Kansas Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom couldn't be prouder to have Ray Huff represent our state as a National Award Winner.
The school is a winner too! We are fortunate to have such exceptional teachers who help you grow your knowledge about agriculture with exciting learning adventures each week.
There have been two National Award Winners for the Excellence in teaching about Agriculture at Service Valley Charter Academy. Mrs. Farris, Kindergarten Teacher, won in 2011 and Mr. Huff in 2016.
