Bridges Captured

Kansas City, KS -

The manhunt for Bryan Levi Bridges, one of Kansas' most wanted fugitives, is finally over. Bridges was located and arrested in Juarez, Mexico, at approximately 9 p.m. Sunday.

The 20-year-old fugitive is wanted for first-degree murder, aggravated burglary, and conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery during an October 2014 home invasion in Pittsburg, Kansas, where a victim was killed.

"The arrest of Bryan Bridges is a testament to the cooperation between Federal, State, and local law enforcement including the Pittsburg KS Police Department and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation" said U.S. Marshal Ronald Miller of the District of Kansas. "The tips and information received from the public were also crucial in helping us locate and arrest this malicious fugitive. I am greatly appreciative of their support and proud of the dedicated men and women who tirelessly worked on this case to ensure Bridges faces justice for his heinous crimes."

The fugitive investigation gained momentum when the U.S. Marshals initiated a media blitz in December 2015 with the help of news outlets Iowa, Colorado, and Mexico, locations where Bridges had personal ties. A number of significant tips were generated, and with the public's help, the Marshals were able to develop substantial information about Bridges' possible whereabouts. On Sunday, the Marshals' diligence paid off when their investigative efforts pinpointed Bridges' location and subsequently led to his arrest by Mexican authorities.

Bridges was returned to the U.S. and is now in U.S. Marshals custody. He is currently being held in a detention facility in El Paso, Texas, awaiting extradition back to Kansas.
