More construction work doesn't mean more progress at new Pittsburg casino site

Updated:
CRAWFORD COUNTY, KANSAS -

Officials behind a new casino project in Southeast Kansas say despite some action at the site, construction on the project is still on hold.

Kansas Crossing Casino workers say all the work being done now is landscaping and removal of trees.  Kansas Crossing workers are waiting for a judge to dismiss some lawsuits before any major construction gets underway.  Lawsuits have been filed by Cherokee County and the developers of a proposed casino in Cherokee County.

The scheduled opening date of Kansas Crossing is now March 31st of next year.
