MSSU Students Hunt Easter Eggs for Fun Prizes

Updated:

Turns out Easter egg hunts aren't just for little kids. Missouri Southern State University students and employees found prize filled eggs all across campus today.

Some were a little more obvious placed in gardens or on outer lawns.

While others had to be seriously hunted.

About thirteen hundred eggs were hidden.

Students say the hunting was fun but even better was redeeming eggs for prizes. Some were small like cups, stress balls, candy and toys while others  were big like the food ninja and Keurig coffee makers.

What started out as a wellness project  to get students moving and unknowingly exercising five years ago, has bloomed into major campus fun. And a time to be like kids again.

Senior Jasmine Jeffery spent most of the morning searching for eggs. She said, "Oh my gosh, cause we don't experience those things as a young adult at all. College is about going to school learning. So, when we have fun experiences like this, I’m definitely like I’m for it.  Win or lose.

I feel like I’m six."?

The campus egg hunt started back in 2011 with just two-hundred eggs.

The egg hunt usually doesn’t take place on St. Patrick's day. But next week during Easter the university is on spring break.
