Updated:
PITTSBURG, KANSAS -

Pittsburg State sophomore pitcher and MIAA Pitcher of the Year Emmie Robertson has earned First-Team NFCA All-Central Region honors, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced today. Robertson will now move to All-America voting.

Robertson finished her sophomore campaign with 301 strikeouts, breaking her own single season record from her sophomore season. She also set the Pittsburg State record for career strikeouts (539) and single game strikeouts (18). Robertson averaged 9.21 strikeouts per game this season and threw 13 games with 10 or more strikeouts. She compiled a 23-11 record with one save and 10 shut outs in 2016. Her wins also inclued no hitters over Northeastern State and Fort Hays State. Robertson earned her 301 strikeouts over 228.2 innings, while walking only 77. She finished the season with a 1.71 ERA and a .169 opponent batting average.

Robertson has already embedded herself in the Pittsburg State record book. She holds the career records for strikeouts and strikeouts/game (8.21) and is in the top five for career ERA, wins and winning percentage. Her 9.21 strikeouts per game is the best single-season strikeout ratio in school history.

The NFCA awards first and second team selections from each of the eight regions. Coaches from those regions vote on the all-region teams. NFCA Division II All-Americans will be announced on Friday, May 13.
