KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI -

Eight Pittsburg State softball upperclassmen have earned 12 MIAA Academic honors, the league announced on Tuesday (May 10).

The Gorillas had eight players named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll. Ashton Pratt, Emmie Robertson, Zoe Price, Lawren McKinney, Katy Remy and Lynsey Conner each earned the award for the second time. Nicole Nease earned the award for the third time, and Catie Cummins, for the fourth time. To earn a spot on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll a student-athlete must have a 3.00 cumulative GPA.

In addition to their Honor Roll status, Pratt, Robertson, Cummins and Remy also earned the MIAA Scholar-Athlete Award. To be named an MIAA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must earn All-MIAA honors and have at least a 3.5 GPA. This is the second time Pratt and Robertson have earned MIAA Scholar-Athlete status.

Academic awards for freshmen and newcomers and the MIAA award for excellence will be announced in June.
