Pittsburg COC Announces Small Business of the Year Finalists

Updated:
PITTSBURG, KANSAS -

The Pittsburg Area Chamber of Commerce and BKD, LLP have announced the finalists for their 2016 Small Business of the Year Award. Based upon evidence of successful operations, as well as significant contributions to the community, the following businesses have been recognized as finalists for the award:

Pro X Realty
Roto Rooter Sewer
SilverCreek Medical Reimbursement Solutions

“Our Small Business of the Year Award provides an opportunity to highlight three outstanding small businesses in the Pittsburg area each year,” said Devin Gorman, Pittsburg Area Chamber vice president of operations. “These highly visible, successful businesses are outstanding supporters of our community and each one is deserving of this distinction.”

The finalists were selected by a nomination review committee, and interviews have been conducted with each of the finalists. The winner of the 2016 Small Business of the Year Award will be announced at the chamber’s Annual Banquet on May 26.

Pro X Realty

The Pro X brand took form in 2009 as Tyler Casey began managing rental properties. A few short years after starting his career in real estate, Tyler Casey branched out on his own and founded Pro X Realty in 2014. As the business has grown, Tyler has brought on additional partners and now operates Pro X Realty, Pro X Property Solutions and Pro X Construction.

Pro X is the largest property management company in the Pittsburg area and employs an additional seven real-estate agents. Along with the team at Pro X, Tyler and his significant other, Renee Miessner, are active in a variety of organizations and have been members of the Pittsburg Area Chamber since 2012.

Roto Rooter Sewer

Roto Rooter has been locally owned and operated by the Pingree Family for the past 21 years. With three full-time employees, Roto Rooter services hundreds of customers a year in the Pittsburg area. In order to provide the best possible service, employees attend workshops and conferences across the nation to keep current on best practices and the latest industry trends.

Roto Rooter actively supports the community, particularly area schools. In addition, Roto Rooter participates in local parades, makes contributions to many area non-profits, and has been a member of the Pittsburg Area Chamber since its inception.

SilverCreek Medical Reimbursement Solutions

Rebecca Light founded SilverCreek Medical Reimbursement Solutions in April 2006 to help fill the need of local physicians needing quality, state-of-the-art billing services in rural areas. The original business plan expected 10 clients and 5 employees, but today SilverCreek has grown to provide a suite of services to over 90 providers in Kansas and Missouri and employees 28 people at their offices in Pittsburg.

Clients rely on SilverCreek to manage their medical claims in excess of $50 million in transactions per year. Along the way, SilverCreek has expanded its services and now provides consulting to clients to improve their financial outlook as well as a gamut of support services and technological assistance.
