Groups are Advocating Stronger Texting and Driving Bans in Oklahoma

MIAMI, OKLAHOMA -

Some groups are advocating for stronger texting and driving bans in states such as Oklahoma. Miami, Oklahoma officials say texting and driving is a bigger issue than DUI's are at the moment. Oklahoma's ban prevents people from legally texting while driving but it doesn't stop the use of phone functions such as GPS or dialing your phone while on the road. A spokesperson for the Governor's Highway Safety Association, Cara Masek, tells us the group wants states to pass broader hand-held bans.
