20 Lions Earn MIAA Academic Honors for Cross Country and Track & Field

Twenty Missouri Southern Lions earned MIAA Academic Honors in Cross Country and Track & Field as announced by the MIAA Office on May 23, 2016.

Leading the way for the Lions were Sierra Gray, Emily Harris, Brittani Reagan, and Jeff Fraley who all earned MIAA Scholar Athlete honors. In order to obtain MIAA Scholar Athlete honors the student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.5 GPA while earning All-MIAA honors in their sport.

Three hundred and eighty MIAA Students Athletes in men's and women's track and field and cross country have been named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll. To achieve honor roll status, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 and have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms.

Of those 380 student-athletes 47 have earned the MIAA Scholar Athlete Award, which is given to those who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50, have at least two terms of attendance at the certifying member institution, excluding summer terms, and, if competing in a championship sport of the MIAA, earn All-MIAA honors.

Newcomers and MIAA Academic Excellence Awards will be given out following the end of the 2015-16 school year.

Allie Heckemeyer - 4.0; Kinesiology
Addie Mengwasser - 3.47; Health Science
Ronise Miller - 3.11; Kinesiology
Kaylee Morgan - 3.14; Criminal Justice
Brittani Reagan - 3.73; Education (MIAA Scholar Athlete)
Katie Skelton - 4.0; Biology
Sierra Wells - 3.84; Kinesiology
Jeff Fraley - 3.58; Biology (MIAA Scholar Athlete)
Ben Grant - 3.59; Biology
Morgan Hold - 3.28; Business
Sam Kohrs - 3.22; Education
Zach Wuest - 3.46; Kinesiology
Shelby Werner - 3.58; Biology
