Joplin police say an Oregon fugitive on probation for a homicide charge has been arrested. The JPD says local investigators were contacted by the Oregon State Board of Probation that Roosevelt Ross was living at 2142 East Princeton. The JPD says Ross violated the terms of his probation. The Jasper County prosecutor's office today filed a no bond felony fugitive warrant on Ross, necessary for Ross to remain in jail while he awaits extradition.
Joplin police say they also have arrested another fugitive, 25-year-old Ashton Bailey of Joplin, at the Sunrise Inn at 3600 South Range Line Road. Police say Bailey had a federal arrest warrant for weapons violations. Court documents show a warrant was issued last week for Bailey's arrest. Investigators say they are not allowed to discuss that tipped them off to Bailey's location, but police say they are relieved he was arrested without incident. Court documents show Bailey was arrested in January, also at the Sunrise Inn, for having a handgun that was reported stolen out of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
