Roderique Nominee For Most Valuable Coach Program

Updated:
WEBB CITY, MISSOURI -

Today U.S. Cellular announced that the top 50 nominees for the company’s Most Valuable Coach program are now posted on TheMostValuableCoach.com. John Roderique from Webb City High School in Webb City is among the top 50 after hundreds of nominations were submitted, and the public can now vote on who will make the final 15. At the end of the program, two coaches will be recognized on the field at the Under Armour High School All-America Game on Jan. 1 and will receive $5,000 each for their school.

U.S. Cellular’s Most Valuable Coach program honors high school football head coaches who have a positive impact on their players, students and local communities. The public is encouraged to vote for their favorite coach among the top 50 nominees between now and noon CT on Oct.17 at TheMostValuableCoach.com.

Following this first round of voting, the 15 coaches earning the most votes will advance to the final round of voting and receive $1,000 from U.S. Cellular for their school to use however they choose. The company will also host a celebratory event to honor each coach and create a short video detailing the coach’s story.

“We heard several inspiring stories and are excited to be one step closer to identifying and honoring these inspirational leaders in our communities,” said Dorsey Heisler for U.S. Cellular in Missouri. “All of the top 50 nominees are worthy of being recognized for their contributions to their team, school and community, and we encourage everyone in and around the Webb City area to vote for their favorite coach.”

The two winning coaches will be determined by a second vote taking place Oct. 20 through Nov. 18 and will be announced as a U.S. Cellular Most Valuable Coach on Nov. 21. The winning coaches and their guests will receive a trip to Orlando, Fla., and be recognized live on the Citrus Bowl’s field during the nationally-televised Under Armour High School All-America Game on Jan. 1 on ESPN.
