    Kansas State Treasurer Jake LaTurner has filed for a full four year term. LaTurner, the youngest statewide official in the nation at 30-years-old, says it has been is honor to serve Kansans in the position for the past year.     Crews Battle Vehicle Fire On Highway 69

    The Cherokee Township, Weir, and Galena Fire Departments fought a vehicle fire today (May 25) around 7:30 p.m. on Highway 69 near Highway 103. According to authorities a truck was heading south on 69 Highway when the vehicle started smoking. The truck was then completely engulfed by flames. The driver managed to escape the vehicle without any serious injury. Crews had the fire put out by 8:00 p.m. No word yet on what caused the truck to catch on fire.More >>
