JOPLIN, MISSOURI -
Missouri American Water presented a check in the amount of $1200.00 to the Joplin Fire Department this morning.
The Missouri American Water Fire Fighter Grant Program is an annual program that provides grant opportunities to fire departments with Missouri American Water service territories. The grants serve to strengthen the partnerships we have with the communities we serve by providing financial assistance to the organizations that provide fire protection and emergency services.
The Joplin Fire Department will use the grant to purchase supplies to continue education programs made to local elementary schools. These programs, including puppet shows and truck shows, educate students on the importance of fire safety.
This is one of 24 Fire Fighter Grants awarded in Missouri American Water Service Territories all over the state.
