Workout Regulars Get Fit Before the Feast: YMCA Fitness Classes on Thanksgiving

Updated:
Joplin, MO -

Some hoping to have guilt free eating on Thanksgiving went to the Joplin Family Y south for some
fitness before the feast..
Body pump  class members turned out in force this morning.  The weights driven class kicks up the metabolism for calorie burning. Several fitness class  instructors volunteered to work on the holiday so regular members could stick to their scheduled workouts.  While individuals also took advantage of the open hours to get in a workout on machine.  Instructors say you can eat up to three thousand calories on the Thanksgiving holiday but  believe that's not the only reason for such a good turnout.
Instructor Joseph Fiscus said, "This is a pretty dedicated class. Everyone here works out almost every day they can so I'm not too surprised to have this many people..
Class participant Jacque Ledford added, "I  mean we make up for some I'd say three hundred to four hundred  calories is what we normally burn in an hour, in here, that s good."  We asked, "What is you favorite indulgence?"  Jacque answered,  "Pecan pie definitely."  "How many caloreis? She answered, "I'm not counting today!  It  doesn't count on thanksgiving."
Instructors get the day off Friday but the gym is open Friday with regular hours  for those feeling guilty and needing to burn off calories after! the feast.
