Fatal fire under investigation in Neodesha

NEODESHA, KANSAS -

This morning (12/13/16) at 03:01 am the Neodesha Fire Department responded to a two story dwelling fire located at 509 Wisconsin Street here in Neodesha, Kansas.  Upon arrival firefighters found the structure fully involved with flames showing through the roof.  This was a single fatality fire.  The name of the victim is not being released at this time.  There were no firefighter injuries.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. Investigators from the Kansas State Fire Marshal Office were on scene this morning to conduct an investigation.

    The Seneca Area Fire Protection District was called out to a fire early this morning (May 24, 2018).  They arrived and found the old vacant Motel at Copeland's Corner fully engulfed in flames.  Fire crews said the structures to the west of it were being threatened.  The Seneca Fire Department, Redings Mill, Neosho and Wyandotte Fire Departments all responded to help put out the fire.  The Newton County Ambulance and Newton County Sheriff were also on scene. ...
