Updated:
JASPER COUNTY, MISSOURI -

On Tuesday, December 27th, 2016, at approximately 2:20 am deputies responded to 1363 S. Lobo Lane in Joplin Missouri due to a house fire. The fire was called in by an individual who saw the blaze while working at the nearby Empire power plant.

Deputies arrived at the house to find it fully engulfed in fire. They attempted to enter the residence but were unable to due to the intense heat and smoke. The Carl Junction, Joplin and Redings Mills Fire Department showed up and were able to extinguish the fire.

The owner of the residence, Franklin Rossman (75 years of age) was located in the debris of the house.

At this time no obvious signs of any foul play have been located. An autopsy has been scheduled for today (Wednesday, 12-28-16). The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the state Fire Marshal’s Office.
