51st Annual Maple Leaf Parade - KOAM TV 7

51st Annual Maple Leaf Parade

Updated:

Seemingly miles of floats -- and a sea of spectators lined the streets of Carthage for the 51st annual Maple Leaf Parade.
It's all part of the month long Maple Leaf Celebration which has become a tradition for many in the area, with the parade seen as the 'crown' of the festival, with more than 150 entries from across the state.
For one local girl, this was her first time to make the parade.

Kayla Ayres says "We were stuck in the hospital for about a year with her when she was first born, and it's just nice to finally get out with her and kinda show her off to all of our friends."
This year's parade was also celebrating the 175th anniversary of Carthage.
