Pittsburg Police Investigate Possible Shots Fired, Two Arrested On Unrelated Incidents

Updated:

Shortly after midnight on Wednesday morning around 12:43 officers were called out to the Sycamore Village Apartment complex (2601 N. Joplin Street) about possible gunshots being heard. They found two people in the area who were arrested, but not in connection to the original call about the gunshots.

32-year-old Jason S. Harper was arrested for possession of meth and drug paraphernalia as well as previous warrants in which charges were filed out of Pittsburg and Crawford County. A 19-year-old was arrested for damaging an apartment door earlier that night at Sycamore Village. The prosecutor has not yet filed charges on the 19-year-old.

Police say that someone broke the glass window at a nearby bus stop and believe that was the loud noise that was originally reported.

The investigations into these incidents are ongoing. Police ask anyone with information to please call them at 620-231-1700 or at their tip line, 620-231-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
