Arrest After Shooting In Rural Cherokee County

CHEROKEE COUNTY, KANSAS -

A Southeast Kansas man is free on bond following a shooting in rural Galena Thursday afternoon. 
According to Cherokee County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to residence for woman being shot. 
The shooting happened after a verbal argument with a 28 year old male. 
Before deputies arrived to the scene the female was taken to a Joplin hospital where she was treat for non-life threatening injuries.  
She was later released. 
During the investigation, detectives served a search warrant at the home south of Galena.  The 28 year old male was arrested at the scene and taken to Cherokee County Jail.  He was booked on multiple charges including Aggravated Battery.   He is free on a $20,500 bond.  
Cherokee County Attorney's Office has not yet filed charges.
