Riverhawks Sweep DH vs. Gorillas

RELEASE FROM PITTSBURG STATE ATHLETICS:

TAHLEQUAH — The Northeastern State University softball team swept an MIAA doubleheader from Pittsburg State University Friday (Apr. 20). The Riverhawks defeated the Gorillas, 8-7 and 10-0 (5 innings).

Pitt State dropped to 21-32 overall and 11-13 in MIAA play, while Northeastern State improved to 28-23 overall and 14-10 in conference action.

Kristen Van Hoosen led the Gorillas in game one, going 2-for-4 with two home runs and two runs scored.

In the nightcap, the Riverhawks limited Pitt State to three hits. Myka Hayward led the Gorillas going 1-for-1.
 
Pitt State will be back in action on Saturday (Apr. 21) in Edmond, Okla. for a MIAA match-up against University of Central Oklahoma. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
