A former Pittsburg Police Officer is sentenced today for aggravated battery.

22-year-old Jesse Davis of Carthage, MO was arrested for an incident that happened on August 26th, 2017.

According to the Crawford County Sheriff's Office, Davis and another officer responded to a domestic disturbance in Pittsburg where a male and female were involved in an altercation. The woman was arrested and taken by Davis to the Crawford County Jail. The woman says while they were on the way to the jail, Davis asked her if she would show him her breasts and that she allowed him to touch them. The woman says she did this out of fear and was afraid of what might happen if she declined Davis's request.

On September 12, 2017, Davis gave himself to authorities after a warrant for his arrest was issued.

Jesse Davis plead no contest to the criminal charge and received a 12 month suspended sentence and two years of probation. Due to the felony conviction, Davis has lost his officer certification and will no longer be able to serve as a law enforcement officer.

A lawsuit filed against Davis, his supervisors and the City of Pittsburg over the event is still ongoing. Click the following link to see the lawsuit documents and statements: http://www.koamtv.com/story/37497246/pittsburg-sexual-assault-lawsuit
