• The event is to bring the community together with fun, sun and fishing for anyone no matter their needs.

• There will be Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner served.

• There are several prizes for different fishing categories

• There is a raffle of several themed summer baskets

• "My Uncle George taught me to fish," said Kyle Phillips, who wanted to emphasize the importance of fishing to his family.

• Ivan Buchanan said, "This is really the only time I'm able to get out of the house to fish," emphasizing the events importance to the disabled community.

• Shari Coatney, the CEO and President of SKIL replied, when asked about the event's importance, "The event is to facilitate peer support and socialization with others with whom they may not have had the chance to interact with. Fishing is an integral part of being a Kansan and many with disabilities are not given access to this essential leisure activity that many take for granted. Everyone, whether they are disabled and need accommodation, or are able bodied and just looking for something to do on a lazy June day will be welcomed."
