Spring City Baptist Breaks Ground for New Building

Updated:
Joplin, MO -

A south Joplin church prepares to expand. Spring City Baptist church is breaking ground for a new building.  Fifty people attended a ceremony today that marked the beginning of construction of a multipurpose building right next to the current church on Dutch Elm road.  Church  member families  have been working to support the new church which will cost about one hundred thousand dollars to build.

Youth Minister Matthew Glover said, "A lot of our members here, we got a handful of them that's been here for a long time, and our old building here it's in desperate need of work. And we've just been praying you know, Lord give us a new building and through the grace of God, like I said,  we've raised the money and God's really blessed us here."
Construction should be completed by the end of July or early August.
