English, Roelfs Sign at Pittsburg High School

Pittsburg High School seniors Marque English and Drew Roelfs signed on Wednesday to continue their basketball careers after high school.

English will he playing at Link Year Prep, before re-classifying next year. Roelfs will be staying in Pittsburg to play for Kim Anderson and the Pittsburg State Gorillas next season.

Both players earned All-Conference and All-Area honors last season. English also added All-State honors and was named the Kansas 5A Player of the Year, averaging 20.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.6 blocks per game last year.

"Being so young, it just gives me another year to develop and work on my craft even more, and try go get to a higher level," English says.

I've always wanted to play at Pitt State," adds Roelfs, "It's close to home. It's nice my parents are close so if I need anything I can just go right back to them. That's always good."
