Eleven NEO Students Qualify for National Competition

Congratulations to NEO's Phi Beta Lambda. The Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College chapter of the business organization travelled to the Oklahoma Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference in Oklahoma City in April. The organization qualified eleven students in eighteen different categories for the National Leadership Conference this June in Baltimore, MD.

"I am very proud of our students' accomplishments," said Pat Creech, Business Department Chair. "NEO continues to produce students who excel in every area."

NEO earned ten first-place finishes, nine second-place finishes, and five third-place finishes. All students who placed in the top three of their events qualified for the National Convention. Along with several individual awards, NEO earned second place for the Local Chapter Annual Business Report and first for having the highest percentage of membership attending the conference.

Individual Results:

Brandy Brogdon – 1st in Computer Applications; 2nd in Personal Finance

Carlos Diaz – 1st in Small Business Management Plan (Team); 2nd in Macroeconomics; 2nd in Public Speaking

Trace Henry – 1st in Sports Management & Marketing; 2nd in Contemporary Sports Issues

Jared Kimble – 2nd in Computer Applications; 2nd in Networking Concepts

Bryan Mann – 1st in Help Desk; 1st in Information Management; 1st in Programming Concepts; 3rd in Computer Concepts

Garrett Price – 1st in Small Business Management Plan (Team); 1st in Accounting Principles; 1st in Microeconomics; 2nd in Retail Management

Trueman Satterwhite – 2nd in Impromptu Speaking

Shaley Scallorn – 1st in Business Communication; 3rd in Small Business Management Plan

Rebecca Scott – 3rd in Retail Management

Austyne Stanger – 3rd in Macroeconomics

Addison Stelle – 2nd in Job Interview; 3rd in Microeconomics
