Pittsburg Business Temporarily Moves For Demolition of Unsafe Structure

Updated:

Dittman Insurance in Pittsburg is asked to temporarily move.  The business neighbors a structure that has been deemed unsafe.

In early April, the City of Pittsburg closed part of West 5th St. between Pine and Broadway downtown. Officials said they received a call about an unsafe structure at 113 W. 5th St. They say building safety officials responded to the complaint and verified that the building had moved since last inspection.

Demolition will take place between Tuesday, May 8th and Thursday May 10th.

For safety reasons, the City has asked Dittman Insurance (121 W. 5th St) to temporarily work out of the BMO Harris Bank (5th & Broadway) during that time.  They'll be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and their calls will also be transferred.

5th Street Bar and Grill also neighbors the building that will be demolished.
