2018 Abou Ben Adhem (ABA) Baseball Showcase - July 21 - KOAM TV 7

2018 Abou Ben Adhem (ABA) Baseball Showcase - July 21

Updated:

The 2018 Abou Ben Adhem (ABA) Baseball Showcase is set for Saturday July 21, 2018 at Hammons Field in Springfield, MO.

The Showcase is a great chance for 15 - 18 year old baseball players from the ABA 38 County Jurisdiction to show off their talents to college and professional scouts, and along with showing off the talented Ball Players we have in this region, this game is also a fundraiser for Shrine Hospitals for Children. For these young ball players, playing at Hammonds Field is such a big thrill, they'll talk about if forever!

The Showcase is in its 4th year and Mike Marshall, the Executive Committee Chair, says "Our last three years were great and we want to continue to build on that success." And that's where we need your help. If you received this press release... your audience, or at least part of them, are within the ABA jurisdiction. Any coverage you can give, not only to the event itself, but any advance stories, Player/Coach profiles, Community Calendar listings, PSA announcements, or anything you can come up with would be fantastic. Mike Marshall and the other Committee Chairs are available for interviews both on the phone and in person. We have pictures and video from last year's game available for your use. We also have pictures of the Historic Shrine Mosque available for you use. Let us know what you need and we will get it for you.

If your organization would like to be even more involved we still have some Sponsorships/Partnerships available. Also we want to look into advertising, and as our goal is to raise money for the Shrine Hospitals for Children, our

advertising budget is limited. Because the Shrine Hospitals for Children is a charitable organization, all of the proceeds and contributions are 100% tax deductible. Marshall says "Any coverage, donations, sponsorships, or contributions are greatly appreciated".

At this point close to 90 ABA area coaches have been contacted to recommend players for the Showcase. Within the next week the names they submit will be turned over to a selection committee made up of ex-professional players and area baseball enthusiasts to build ABA East and West teams. John Hull, Selection committee Chair, says "So far the response has been great and we are very excited by the pure Ozarks talent available for this year's game. It's going to make final selection really tough."
