PSU Volleyball Announces Two Signees

RELEASE FROM PITTSBURG STATE ATHLETICS:

PITTSBURG — Pittsburg State University head volleyball coach Jen Gomez announced the recent signing of two high school student-athletes to letters of intent to join the Gorillas for the 2018 season.
 
Pitt State's signing class includes: Meg Auten from Manhattan High School and Claire Sandvig from Boone (Iowa) High School.
  
Meg Auten, 5-10, OH, Manhattan, Kan.  
Auten attends Manhattan High School and is coached by Lisa Kinderknecht. She is a two-year starter for the Indians.
 
Auten finished her senior season with 34 service aces and 334 kills. She plays club volleyball for the Topeka Impact. 
 
Meg is the daughter of Robert and Suzy Auten. She plans to pursue a degree in marketing and finance at Pitt State.
 
Claire Sandvig, 6-2, RS, Boone, Iowa 
Sandvig attends Boone High School and is coached by Danielle Schmidt. She is a three-time All-Conference selection and an honorable mention All-State honoree in her senior season.
 
Sandvig finished her high school career with 960 kills, 106 service aces and 821 digs. She plays club volleyball for Iowa Heart. Sandvig also competed in basketball and track & field for four years.
 
Claire is the daughter of Steve and Jill Sandvig. She plans to pursue a degree in elementary education at Pitt State.
