Summer Junior Rangers - June- Aug

Updated:

Diamond, MO - Do you have active children who are eager to learn? Are you looking for a FREE summer program for your kids? Then George Washington Carver National Monument is the place for you. Starting on June 2nd, the park will be hosting its annual Summer Junior Ranger Program focused on youth ages 8-12.

This annual event series gives children a "behind the scenes" look at what it's like being a park ranger, as well as a unique opportunity to learn more about George Washington Carver and the National Park Service through a variety of hands-on and small group activities. Whether it's exploring the trail, participating in lab demonstrations, discovering astronomy, learning rock formation, or identifying aquatic life, we have lots of activities to keep kids engaged and excited this summer.

Come join staff at George Washington Carver National Monument as we celebrate our annual Junior Ranger Camp. This year, we are focusing on the theme: Carver, Rocks, and Aquatics. We encourage you to sign your youth up for this free, family-friendly program.

Choose from two sessions: June 2nd, 9th and 16th or July 21st, 28th and August 4th from 10:00 a.m-2:00 p.m. each day. Children are encouraged to attend all three Saturdays in their session. Please have your future Junior Ranger bring a sack lunch and water bottle each day. Water fountains are available for refilling water bottles. Registration is

required and space is limited. Please Contact Rangers Valerie or Sarah for more information.

Administered by the National Park Service, an agency of the Department of the Interior, George Washington Carver National Monument preserves the birthplace and childhood home of George Washington Carver, scientist, educator, and humanitarian. Please call the park at 417-325-4151 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for further information. Visit our website at www.nps.gov/gwca and Facebook page. The park is located two miles west of Diamond, Missouri, on Highway V, then south ¼ mile on Carver Road.
