SEK Humane Society Mutt Run - June 2

MUTT RUN EVENT

Pittsburg, KS - Blue Ribbon Farm&Home and MPIX present the 6th Annual Mutt Run on Saturday, June 2nd! This motorcycle run is a benefit for the SEK Humane Society. This 90 mile ride starts at Blue Ribbon, and registration begins at 10AM. All bikes will leave at 11AM. Riders will have the chance to play in a game of skill where they will be given a set course with stops to play a bean bag toss for their cards. The highest hand will win 25% and the other 75% will be donated to the Humane Society. The cost is $15.00 per hand which includes a meal at the final stop. There will also be t-shirts available for purchase, a 50/50 pot, and raffle prizes! Cars are welcome for this event as well!!

    The crime happened on August 7th, 2017 around 3:30 a.m. at 4th and Sergeant Avenue in Joplin, MO. Officer Joel Taber says he saw a truck traveling north on Sergeant Avenue from 7th Street pulling a trailer without any lights. He pulled the vehicle over. Taber says that's when the driver, Keith Wald, started the truck and fled.     Well done 5th grade class at St. Mary's Colgan Catholic Schools in Pittsburg, KS! The students created a video challenging the larger community to make the world around them better than they found it.   The video was inspired by The Greatest Showman.  Joe Dockers directed it and Carol Anne Smock played piano. Again, very well done! 5th grade SME 2018

    Senate bill 652 passed in the Missouri legislature. It repeals sections of an old law that prevented sheriff's departments from hiring people from neighboring states.
