Pitt State Advances to NCBA World Series Championship

The Pittsburg State club baseball team is one win away from being able to call themselves NCBA World Series Champions.

The Gorillas started Monday needing just one win over Longwood to advance to the championship game. After losing to the Lancers 4-3, the Gorillas had to play them again in a win-or-go home rematch. Pitt State was able to get by Longwood 6-1 Monday night to make it to the title game.

Former Colgan Panther Simon Higginbotham went 1-3 with 2 RBI in the second game against Longwood Monday.

The Gorillas will face San Diego State in the NCBA World Series championship game Tuesday night at 7:00 pm at Jaycee Ballpark in Pittsburg.
