The rounds of thunderstorms we saw over the weekend capped off what was a bit of an active pattern over the past 7 days. Throughout the course of the past week, we have seen 1 tornado warning and over 25 severe t-storm warnings across the Four State Area. The bulk of the severe weather came through Saturday and Sunday with numerous reports of high wind, some wind damage and some large hail. On top of that, we're getting a brief chance to dry out before thunderstorm chances return. Since last Monday, we have seen a wide amount of rainfall. Some spots have seen as little as 1" of rain while other topped out between 8" to 10" of rain. For our Kansas counties, it's rain that we need to put a dent in the drought. For everyone else, it's rain that we'll take before we head into the drier months of the coming summer season. Tuesday looks dry before thunderstorm chances return by Wednesday. As far as the coming holiday weekend, we'll stay warm with the thunderstorm chances sticking around. We'll keep an eye on the forecast.
