NICHOLAS CUTBIRTH

  • An alleged habitual Joplin offender is behind bars, and after his fourth arrest, he may be there for a longer time.  We introduced you to Ashley Raby last week after her neighbor, Nicholas Cutbirth, allegedly broke into her home and stole several items.  Cutbirth was arrested in Carthage this weekend for allegedly stealing two vehicles, breaking into several other vehicles, possession of a controlled substance, and resisting arrest.

GREITENS SPECIAL SESSION

  • Today a Missouri House Investigatory committee will reconvene to discuss rules and procedures as discussion continues into whether to impeach Governor Eric Greitens.  Since March the house committee has spent more than $14,000 on the investigation into the governor's alleged sexual misconduct and misuse of charity resources for political purposes.

SOUTH CAROLINA MANHUNT

  • A manhunt is underway for two accused murderers who escaped from a South Carolina jail Saturday.  Tyshon Johnson and Curtis Green broke free after an electrical shortage opened cell doors in one section of the jail.  A third man, who also escaped, was recaptured Sunday. 

ROYAL GARDEN PARTY

  • Prince Harry and Meghan Markle make their first public appearance as husband and wife today.  The newlyweds will attend Prince Charles' 70th patronage garden party at Buckingham palace.  The Duke and Duchess of Sussex tied the knot on Saturday at Windsor castle.

    Kansas Governor Concedes Defeat in GOP Race for Nomination

    The state of Kansas now has a Republican nominee for Governor. What has been a roller coaster primary between Kansas Governor Jeff Colyer and Secretary of State Kris Kobach, Colyer announced today he is conceding defeat and is endorsing Kobach. Kobach will face the Democratic nominee Laura Kelly.  Governor Colyer was elevated from his position after former Kansas Governor Sam Brownback took an ambassador's position.

    A Springfield man was indicted by a federal grand jury today (Aug 14, 2018) for making a bomb threat at a Veterans Affairs Clinic. 48-year-old Richard Leslie Turner III allegedly threatened to blow up the Community Based Outpatient Clinic located at 600 N. Main Street in Mount Vernon, Missouri.
