Montgomery Co., KS Reopens Drivers License Office

Updated:
INDEPENDENCE, KANSAS -

Driver's licensing services resume in Montgomery Kansas after security concerns subside. The ARCO building driver's license office in Independence, KS was closed down on May 18th amid a series of intentionally lit fires. The services were moved to Fredonia, KS temporarily. The fires are under ongoing investigation by police and fire officials, and they are confident in the security of the building. Limited driver's license services will continue to be offered in Fredonia.

"We have taken the necessary precautions to ensure a safe environment for our driver's license offices," Director of Vehicle Services David Harper said. "We appreciate the patience and understanding everyone has demonstrated throughout the situation."
