Galena Upsets Clay Center in First Round of State Tournament

The Galena Bulldogs may have had the upset of the day Thursday, beating Clay Center 6-0 in the first round of the 4A-DII state softball tournament. Clay Center was the #1 seed in the bracket and was 22-0 heading into the contest.

With the win, Galena is now 13-10 overall this season. The Bulldogs will face the winner of Holton/Kingman in the state semifinals on Friday morning at 11 in Salina.

    "Chaos, ignorance, it's a mess." Vernon County resident, Chris Greer expressing his disappointment in what happened to the lake. "A lot of mad people. There's a lot of people that fish out here, bring their kids out here and fish. A lot of people who survive off of fishing out here" Greer and others at the lake say they wish the Missouri Department of Conservation would have drained the lake differently, a way not resulting in a mass death of mostly Carp.
