Kids get free meals at Farmers Market

Updated:
WEBB CITY, MISSOURI -

Families in Webb City have a new opportunity to get free food for their kids.

The Webb City Farmers Market announced today that they will start serving free lunch to kids under 19 on Saturdays, during the Farmers Market.

The Market already provides free breakfast, but they say they wanted to try something new.. so that kids might try something new too.

Kelly Tallie with the Webb City Farmers Market says, "We serve usually fresh vegetables and fruit from the market, so we kind of hope that it will peak the interest of kids in trying new fruits and vegetables maybe, and give them an interest in the market."

The Farmers Market offers free meals Saturday mornings and afternoons, Thursday afternoons, and Tuesday evenings.
