Pittsburg, KS - The Blue Spoon and The SEK Humane Society are proud to present the 6th Annual Bark In The Park event! Join us on Saturday, June 23rd, in front of the Lincoln Center to enjoy and participate in: actives, vendors, community dog walk, dog show, demos by Good Boy Professional Dog Training, raffles, a kids craft zone and more! Preregistration (before June 16th): $20.00 Day of Registration: $25.00 *Registration includes: a limited edition Bark In The Park T-Shirt, swag bag, one free category entry into the Dog Show, two raffle tickets and event access* Dog Show Categories: Best Trick | Best Veteran | Best Junior Handler | Best Dressed | Best Celebrity Look Alike *there will be an additional category, Best In Show, that is applicable for all dogs that enter the dog show* Categories $3.00/each or 2 for $5.00 Please make checks payable to "SEK Humane Society" and mail in with your form to: SEK Humane Society, PO Box 783, Pittsburg KS 66762 or drop off your form and payment at The Doggie Bag, 816 N.     Two cycling events both follow Route 66. As the Oklahoma Freewheel comes to a close, the Big Bam Ride begins in Joplin.  After riding 425 miles across Oklahoma and Kansas, roughly five hundred cyclists will be departing on a five-day cycling tour  along historic route 66  for the Big Bam ride.

    GOP Candidates for governor in Kansas took part in a debate and forum in Parsons Saturday night. During the event a straw poll was conducted. Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach was a clear leader with 51% of the straw poll votes.
