Jazz Camp Begins At Thomas Jefferson School

Updated:
JOPLIN, MISSOURI -

Young musicians got a chance to hone their jazz playing abilities today in Joplin. The Thomas Jefferson school is hosting jazz camp this week. It's a three-day event which seeks to teach students about improvisation, theory and other subjects though group rehearsal. Its founder started the camp in order to help students better themselves as performers and carry on the jazz tradition. The three-day event culminates with a performance at Gusanos on Wednesday, June 11th and a big band dance on Thursday, June 12th.
