Man Arrested For Burglary in Carthage, Missouri

Carthage Police arrest a man on a warrant and for stealing from the Carthage Streets Department.

On June 11th, 2018, authorities received a call about a burglary that had happened at 621 E. 6th Street. Police say a suspect entered the building by removing a window air conditioner unit and going through that window. Several items were stolen from inside and outside the building, including power tools and a 2008 Cub Cadet Utility vehicle.

On June 12th, a Street Department employee saw man walking near the Carthage Streets Department building and recognized the items he was carrying as items that were stolen. Police arrived and arrested Kevin J. Burton.

During the investigation, detectives found most of the stolen property. They also located a video and other evidence at the crime scene.

Burton is in jail on a warrant for stealing (a charge already filed). Authorities are seeking additional burglary charges.
