Newton County Prepares for Election Day

Updated:

Tomorrow's elections means preparation today. The Newton County Clerk's office was busy sending out voting materials to their 23 precincts and we took a trip there to learn about the topics being discussed.

Nearly 500 absentee ballots have been filed. That's up from 394 back in 2014.

Kay Baum, Newton County Clerk, shares what she thinks voters are discussing the most.

"I think the candidates really this year for us since we do have office holders that are retiring this year. I think the candidates are bringing out a lot of the voters and then the right to work question, I believe that is also," states Baum.

But Buzzard says things have changed. "Now it's almost to the point of being a corporate, and I call them corporate farmers now, because those&nbs...
