A look at the Tropics doesn't show any developing waves out in the Atlantic or the Pacific. Instead, we have three named systems we're watching. In the Atlantic, we have Tropical Storm Debby still holding onto some reasonable strength. At the last advisory, it had wind speeds of 50 mph as it continues its northeast track. Debby is forecast to weaken as we work into the coming weekend. Over in the Pacific, we have Hurricane John with sustained wind speeds of 80 mph. John will maintain Category 1 Hurricane status through Thursday and then weaken to a Tropical Storm as we head into the weekend. Also in the Pacific, we have Tropical Storm Kristy with sustained wind speeds of 45 mph. Some strengthening is forecast over the next few days, but it shouldn't be able to reach Hurricane status. As we work into the weekend, it'll stay over open water before it starts to dissipate early next week.
