Josh Hawley Challenges Claire McCaskill To Debate In Joplin

Updated:
JOPLIN, MISSOURI -

Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley brings his Let's Debate Tour to Joplin today. He spoke to residents about a wide range of issues such as the supreme court confirmation and immigration. He also continues to challenge his opponent in the U.S. Senate Race, Claire McCaskill to a debate in the back of a trailer. Hawley says the informal debates would be the best way to reach everyday Missourians.

"Senator McCaskill wants to hideout in the studios of MSNBC." Said Hawley. "She wants to hide out in Washington. What i say is face the voters of the state. Face the voters answer their questions. Let's you and I stand up on a stage and answer questions. And do it as long as it takes. Let's do it in Joplin, let's do it in Lexington Missouri where i grew up. Let's do it everywhere."

Next Thursday September 13, President Donald Trump will be in Cape Girardeu Missouri to endorse Josh Hawley. The campaign rally will take place around 7 p.m. at the Show Me Center.

Senator Claire McCaskill is currently in Washington D.C. for the Brett Kavanaugh hearings for a seat on the Supreme Court. McCaskill has also  challenged Hawley. She wants a series of four town hall-style debates in addition to the already agreed upon Missouri Press Association Debate. McCaskill won the democratic primary over six other challengers.
