McCaskill, Hawley, Making Final Campaign Stops

Updated:

In Missouri, both Senator Claire McCaskill and her opponent, Attorney General Josh Hawley, making campaign stops in the state.  McCaskill making a stop in Florissant today stopping at a local Walmart.  McCaskill met with supporters and spoke about the campaign trips she's made and tackled issues facing the state.  She also took the time to speak about Josh Hawley.
Senator Claire McCaskill, (D), Missouri:  "It's clear that this is really, really important to them. I think we'll find out on Tuesday whether him coming here as often as he has, whether that's going to work to my benefit or to my opponent's benefit. I think it is a double-edged sword, as you heard a number of my constituents at Walmart, they identify Josh Hawley as Donald Trump. That's not a positive thing for most of my constituents here. Now in other parts of the state it is going to be a very positive thing."

Missouri Attorney General and Republican candidate for Senate Josh Hawley campaigning up the road in Springfield.  He held a campaign event at the Springfield GOP office.  During his stop, he took on his opponent, Senator Claire McCaskill.

Josh Hawley, Republican Candidate for Senate: "And now, we are in the midst of the final 72 hour surge. We've got just 48 hours to go, 48 hours until we fire Claire McCaskill. We're almost there. Senator McCaskill, it's been a long time coming. Senator McCaskill has been running for office for 36 years in this state. Now again, a lot of young people in this state, I'm not that old. I'm only 38. I'm 38, so I have been alive about as long as Senator McCaskill has been running for office. I mean it's quite a long time. She's been in the US Senate in DC for 12 years, multiple terms in the US Senate. The biggest problem with Senator McCaskill - it's not that she's a bad person, she's not a bad person, it's not any of that - it's that she has been in politics too long, and she's been in Washington too long and doesn't represent our values anymore."

The Lamar Police Department, which doubles as the animal shelter for strays, can no longer take in cats.     We went to find out why... Rusty Rives, Lamar Police Chief: "So whenever they came in and did the inspection, last month, they gave us a report back, to say if we're in compliance or if we're not, and what we found, our kennels, specifically for our cats are not in compliance, due to height restrictions for those animals."
